Alisa Mears
Jan 1, 2010
Dear Alisa,
After reading your nomination letter I couldn't' help but think
that you are a real bright spot for the usually dreary month of
January. Your supervisor, Donna Bernstein writes about your sense
of humor, your friendliness, and the enthusiasm and excitement you
maintain about your work. Your fellow staff at Ripley II and Sue,
Margie, and Phyllis are all the great beneficiaries of your very
positive approach to life and your big, bright smile.
Last year you assisted in the successful transition to Ripley II
and you continue to have a tremendous impact on all three women who
have distinctly different personalities. You support each to
achieve their own personal outcomes and always introduce new and
creative possibilities for them to experience. It is known that
Alisa is the "party girl" since you arrange for BBQ's, birthday
celebrations, and other get-to-gethers. You also make sure that the
holidays are special and go the extra mile it takes to ensure that
Sue, Margie, and Phyllis are satisfied with their social life. You
address the ladies' challenges with safe, responsible and positive
interventions and take the time to redirect and discuss solutions
to their differences. Whether assisting them to complete tasks,
taking day trips, or just chatting, you are dedicated to supporting
each one in ways that enhance their lives.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, your fellow employees and the
ladies you support, it is my pleasure to honor you as Employee of
the Month. We thank you for your four years of dedicated service to
SPIN and to being an exemplary Direct Support
Professional.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno Executive Director
