Alyse Schrann

Dear Alyse,

The Beatles had it right in so many ways.  They knew exactly how to celebrate life and a sunny day, even when the sun may not be shining.  This can be a skill, a gift and a talent.  Our nominators today, Bernie McHale and Nicole Ventura saw this the very first day that they met Alyse Schrann when she came to SPIN about two years ago in pursuit of career exploration within SPIN’s Employment Department and the sun hasn’t stopped shining.

As a volunteer, focused on career sampling and eager to learn what working in an office and being a receptionist might feel like – you quickly got to the task! You had a dream to work in an office environment.  So, with the support of the Employment Services Department and the encouragement of many people, your dream was put into motion.

While a volunteer at SPIN, you worked with a variety of administrative departments,  continually seeking opportunities to demonstrate your skills and strengths, knowing that each assignment would sharpen your knowledge, network of connections and expertise, and perhaps, sometime in the future, offer an opportunity for employment.

Well…, the future came pretty quickly based upon your excellence, hard work and dedication. SPIN was in need of a receptionist and support person for its Human Resource department that had relocated to 10501 Drummond Road.  You did not hesitate to apply for the position.  What a lucky day for SPIN!

Alyse, when you became the Administrative Assistant on the HR Team, you quickly became one of the ambassadors of SPIN. Walking through the door of 10501, it is quite evident that you represent SPIN’s Pillars every day. You performs your job as Administrative Assistant with positive energy, high motivation, and are always looking for more you can do to support those around you.

Vanessa Freeman said that “Alyse’s great work ethic and dedication to SPIN’s mission, HR team, and all other businesses that she assists is supreme, and is demonstrated throughout her daily work”. The Recruitment team says, “Alyse is a dynamic combination of dependable, cheerful, and ready to help. Alyse always demonstrates People First approaches and is always seeking to support those in need and lend a helping hand.”

Alyse, your passionate dedication is evident in the outcome of your work. Your diligence, attention to detail, and follow through assures the best possible results. You are dedicated to both Performance Excellence and Productivity. You are a quick learner and work very hard to meet and exceed all of deadlines. When you are at the front desk, we know that you prioritize workplace safety.  You are attentive to our visitor’s needs by guiding them to the right person or location.

Alyse, you have increased your “toolkit” at SPIN and you utilize the computer system as a resource as you have mastered many different sources of technology increasing your productivity and therefore you are able to provide higher-level support to the HR team. You are a “go to” person as you find the right person and right answer all being done with that electric smile!

Alyse, you demonstrate Professionalism in all of your interactions with SPIN’s stakeholders. The relationships that you develop create a welcoming feeling right from the start. And we know how important first impressions are! Whenever there is a celebration in any department you are always an active participant, because you wouldn’t miss an opportunity to recognize someone and celebrate.  Alyse, if it wasn’t for you, we would all be left scrambling to remember everyone’s birthdays each month!

Alyse, your dedicated and enthusiastic efforts each day, every day, present an outstanding example to all who have the privilege and the honor of witnessing your high performance action and luckily you share them with others through your collaborative approach and strong teamwork ability.
