Bernina Armwood

Bernina Armwood

Jan 28, 2014

Dear Bernina,

As we ring in the New Year, we reflect on our achievements of last year, changes we need and want as well as look forward to what opportunities lay ahead for us.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said “Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year”.

On February 15, 2008, someone with this level of kindness, generosity, and positive attitude began supporting a life of possibilities for people at SPIN and lucky for us, Bernina Armwood hasn’t stopped for a minute!

Bernina, for the past six years, you have been sharing your gifts and talents in all that you do, all the while demonstrating SPIN’s Pillars in every giving action. Your care, compassion and strong trusting relationships with Helen and Marian together with your creative and goal oriented approach present you as an outstanding Direct Support Professional who is an example to us all.

Bernina, your interest in each of the women ensures that they are introduced to new and exciting opportunities and that their days are filled with meaningful activities. You never forget the little details that truly matter to people, ensuring the ladies look beautiful head to toe at home and in the community, and you know especially how important it is for women to accessorize!!   And do these women accessorize!

You support Helen and Marian to decorate and organize their rooms with their unique interests and desires to a level that they are proud of and fully satisfied with.  On any given day you can be found making a delicious, healthy home cooked meal, supporting the ladies to make special arts and crafts decorations, and helping them to display their festive products to beautify their home. This is why you are called “the Martha Stewart of Morrow”.

Bernina, your nominators Amelia Scell and Donna Bernstein hail you as a huge asset to SPIN and they proudly and confidently say that you are a top performing employee who is hard working and exemplifies the mission, vision and the four Pillars of SPIN. They continue by saying that your sense of humor is enjoyed by your co-workers and you encourage a healthy, friendly environment for everyone to enjoy.  Your cheerful attitude, eagerness and consistent willingness to provide caring support has greatly contributed to the individual growth of the women you support.

On behalf of the SPIN Corporate Board, SPIN Managers, your fellow colleagues and most importantly, Helen and Marian, we are so very proud of you and congratulate you on this most deserving Employee of the Month Award for December, 2013.  Thank you for your commitment to supporting people to live a life of possibilities. Through your passionate dedication for the work you do, your positive attitude and collaboration, you make the home a better place to work and a happier and healthier home for the ladies to live. Your actions demonstrate that when you write it on your heart, every day is the best day of the year!

With deep appreciation and congratulations,
