"Bound by paperwork, short on hands, sleep and energy… nurses
are rarely short in caring."
Sharon Hurducek
Dear Betty,
We know for a fact that you are never short in caring! You have a
very complex group of people to support medically and each of them
have a team of people who also need to be supported and trained in
everyday healthcare issues and in times of medical crisis. You care
about each one as though they were the only one.
Of course there is one gentleman who you support who amazes us all
and has given us all the opportunity to believe in miracles. Mr.
Cammarota, as you lovingly call Joe, has had your never ending
dedication as you and his team pull him out of one crisis after
another. Each time Joe returns home you are right there to teach
his staff what they need to know to continue to support Joe; there
is nothing you won't do to ensure that he has the best possible
health and that staff not only has all the knowledge and skill they
need but also the confidence they need to support him.
Though your regular schedule is hectic, you manage to get it all
done even while managing emergencies. You even take time to advise
and educate me when I need to give medical consent for people on
your caseload facing health challenges. Those who nominated you
said that you remind them of the wind; you can be a gentle breeze
but you can also be a storm when needed.
It is a pleasure to honor you as April's Employee of the Month and
to thank you on behalf of theSPIN Board of Directors, your fellow
employees, especially your fellow nurses and all of the people who
so depend on you to support their best possible health. Your
dedication, care, and compassion are very much
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
