Elinore Spiotta

Elinore Spiotta

Dear Elinore,

The author Anthony Robbins once said, "The way we communicate with others…ultimately determines the quality of our lives."

For the past 17 years you have brought your considerable creativity and talent to the Norcom Community Center and have focused on communication issues for most of that time. Whether through language, alternate forms of communication or music, you are dedicated to supporting people to express themselves in whatever form they can and thus increase the quality of their lives.

As SPIN's Communication Specialist, you work closely with our Communication Team and Temple's PIAT program and have brought communication seminars to SPIN employees, service recipients and their families and other provider agencies. Your facility with various Alternative and Augmentative Communication devices has enabled your support of countless people to discover their voice, especially Terrie McNulty. You also work with many individuals in the computer lab; the E-Buddies program at NCC and the NCC Newsletter are hugely popular and give participants the opportunity to be part of the technology scene.

And then there are the Morning Music classes! Filled to capacity, always on the schedule and often listed as people's favorite class, you sing and play guitar and encourage people to join in the sing-a-long. You also lend your talents to the NCC Talent Show, this year leading all in a rendition of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and to the SPIN Live concert. Your contribution just goes on and on.

Today I am pleased to honor you as the Employee of the Month in recognition of your dedication to SPIN. The Board of Directors, your fellow employees and all of the people who you support join me in thanking you for your passion, your beautiful music and your untiring quest to help people communicate and enhance their lives. You certainly are our Communication Champion!

Sincerely,

Trina Losinno
Executive Director
