Fred Sarpong
Dec 1, 2009
For most of the world 2009 has been a tremendously stressful
year. As we come to its close, we know that, while some things are
improving, we as a country are not yet out of the woods. At SPIN,
Inc. we've shared in the many stressors, particularly the economic
issues. We have two choices in dealing with all of this: be
pessimistic or be optimistic. Reading your nomination letter
combined with the holiday season, helped me to remain optimistic
and hopeful because you and many others are very grounded and
focused in what our mission is and no matter what, we will all
continue to serve and serve well.
Since 2001 you have supported individuals to have enriched and
enhanced lives. You began at Dungan Road and are now the Home Life
Coordinator at Fulmer Street. You've supported Art and Joe most of
that time and now also support Fran. How lucky those guys are to
have you in their corner!
You ensure that they stay active in their community life even
though they are retired; you insist on a healthy cooking regimen at
Fulmer so that the gentlemen stay healthy; you place each
individual on the priority list and make sure that all staff know
and understand each one's unique needs. Teamwork is a value you
embrace and model for all staff. After caring, leadership is one of
your top strengths. Often you place some of your own goals on hold
so that you can devote more time to work out concerns that arise
for the guys and so that you can support other individuals in other
homes. You are always willing to share your knowledge and lend a
hand when someone is in need.
So it is my pleasure to honor you as December's Employee of the
Month and to thank you on behalf of Art, Joe, and Fran, your fellow
employees and the Board of Directors for the outstanding work that
you do every day. You are a gift to all of us.
Sincerely, Trina Losinno
Executive Director
