Dear Gwen,

On May 1, 2006, our Frankford community increased in talent, creativity, energy and shear positivism when you, Miss Gwen walked through our Frankford campus doors. And, our Head Start program was never the same!  How lucky we have been!  Your dedicated and enthusiastic efforts each day, every day, present an outstanding example to all big and little people who have the privilege and the honor of witnessing your high performance action. As the consummate Paraprofessional in one of our Head Start classrooms, you help organize and support children of such important pre-school ages learn and play in a healthy, fun, meaningful, and highly supportive learning environment.

Gwen, it is your tremendous joy that you willingly share with children, families, colleagues, managers, system partners and the overall community that is your signature and a critical outcome of your classroom activity. You begin early in the morning and spread your gifts and talents with the children into the evening as you support the Full Day Full Year program participants.   Gwen, you are known to always be moving and shaking! And we mean this truly! You are usually found playing, singing, dancing, hugging, and loving our children with your incredible creative ideas and heart filled with love and care.  You have the ability to make everyone feel like a VIP - special and important.

Whether singing and dancing to “Attuta-Totty“, playing parachute games, teaching a child a new skill, encouraging a child to eat their vegetables, or hugging a child who misses their mom or dad, you demonstrate SPIN’s Pillars in all you do and say.  You are a wonderful leader for SPIN’s entire workforce, but you especially offer your Frankford colleagues an opportunity to see your passionate dedication. A very best day is one that involves receiving a great big hug from Miss Gwen. How do I know? Well, most certainly it is because when I receive one of Miss Gwen’s hugs, I know that my day is that much brighter. 

Gwen, you live SPIN’s Pillars in all that you do. You abound with skills and talents and luckily you share them with others through your collaborative approach and strong teamwork ability.  Those that work with you immediately see your strong ability to communicate with everyone.  You support your co-workers and most importantly, greatly influence them through your caring, calm, friendly, professional, positive and respectful attitude and actions.  It is no doubt that your colleagues and supervisors see and depend upon your leadership skills. 

We are so fortunate to have you as a role model; your leadership is seen and felt everywhere. Wherever a need arises, you are fully present and bring all that you have and all that you are to the children. You have made huge impact with so many children who need individualized and specialized support to reach their critical outcomes. That gigantic smile can help a child with limited social interaction skills to feel safe and comfortable and that child blossoms right before our eyes!

Gwen, on behalf of the SPIN Corporate Board, your special Frankford Team, and most importantly, the countless children you have provided a critical head start in life, we recognize and appreciate your skills, talents and competencies. Congratulations on this most deserving Employee of the Month award for August, 2013.  Miss Gwen, you change little lives and big lives every day with your intense dedication, expert skill set and magical personality.
