My new favorite quote is "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain"*. When you arrived in the Corporate Offices as a Corporate Assistant we were in the middle of final Auction preparations, planning for the President's Reception and a variety of year end holiday events. You jumped right in and began helping wherever you could and quickly adapted to life in "Corporate". Your routine responsibilities include supporting the Corporate Offices on a day to day basis as well as events, projects and publications. You seem to balance these with some measure of ease and still bring your considerable talents to bear. All of our layouts and print materials are sporting new looks; your color and design eye are "right fit" with the image we wish to project. Our photo resources are at an all time high because you seem to be able to be everywhere, all the time. In the winter/spring phase of our year, you worked on the rededication of the Norcom Community Center, the Health Fair, Golf Tournament and the Stewardship/Stroll in the Park weekend. Your enthusiasm and positive attitude helped keep the whole team focused and motivated!

All the while, there was a vacant Corporate Assistant position posted but not attracting suitable candidates. When you heard that recruiters were preparing for a major job fair, you took matters into your own hands and created a brochure featuring the open position for them to distribute at the fair. The results were fantastic and led to the recent hiring of another Corporate Assistant. Some may think you wanted to lighten your workload but truth be known you wanted to have time to do all of the many back burner projects that are twirling around in your head. Updating our website and portal, giving new looks to our public relations material and streamlining databases all present endless possibilities to you.

Though you've been a Corporate Assistant for less than a year, you've "grown up" at SPIN and have volunteered and worked here for much of your young adult life. You have creatively found a way to combine your many talents and your dedication to SPIN's mission into what we hope will be a long and fruitful career. For all of this we are happy to honor you today as Employee of the Month. The Board of Directors, your fellow employees and all those we support appreciate your dedication. You certainly know how to dance in the rain.

Sincerely,

Trina Losinno
Executive Director
