Maureen Geiss

Maureen Geiss

Jun 1, 2011

Dear Maureen,

"If you build it, they will come." Most would assume that this famous line pertains to the movie Field of Dreams. That may be true, but for those who helped to dream and create the Norcom Community Center, it defines the NCC completely! However, building the Center was only the beginning, developing it into the state of the art, gathering place for the whole community took a village!

Maureen, one of those members of the village is you, the NCC's Administrative Coordinator extraordinaire who celebrated your third anniversary at SPIN and continues to make your personal and professional mark in the ongoing success of the Norcom Community Center. From the day that you entered the scene at the NCC it was easy to see your flexibility, quick ability to learn and most importantly, your positive, proactive customer service excellence. Your warm smile welcomes all customers and your competent administrative skills demonstrate your valuable role among the NCC team. Even on the most challenging of days, you utilize effective communication and present all the NCC customers with the kindness and respect that they each deserve.

You are known to wear many hats and one of your many responsibilities is to support the growth, development and implementation of the room rentals for the Center. In May, the NCC surpassed its top income month for party rentals reaching its all time high. Your role in delivering and ensuring high quality communication as well as supporting the successful implementation of all of the events at the NCC is recognized and greatly appreciated. Laura Fekete Colon boasts in her nomination letter that "Maureen has a hand in making sure that everyone who comes through the door at the NCC feels special. She treats them all like they are the only concern she has". Your individualized attention is a key ingredient to the increased recruitment and retention of NCC members.

Maureen, when you are not there, you are sorely missed as was reflected when you were on maternity leave. As noted by Laura, absence sure makes the heart grow fonder! Whether it is a camp registration, tour, party planning, or any of the other important NCC activities, your customer service excellence is a wonderful example of SPIN's People First Pillar.

…And come they have (in droves). Maureen, you and your Village are creating a life of possibilities for everyone at the Norcom Community Center. On behalf of the SPIN Board of Directors, your fellow colleagues and the NCC community, we congratulate you on this well deserved Employee of the Month award and thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Sincerely,

Judith R. Dotzman
Executive Director
