Missy Garvin, B&DS

About nine years ago, you came to SPIN, Inc. as a Therapeutic
Support Staff to assist children who had behavior challenges and
their families; you then moved on to be a Home Life Coordinator and
finally to your current position of Behavior Specialist. As a
Behavior Specialist, you support adults who have behavioral
challenges. While your job titles have differed, supporting
individuals to lead more enhanced lives has always been the outcome
you were and are looking for in your role.
The essence of your work has always been the relationships you are
able to develop with each individual you work with. Your
supervisor, Patrick McElwaine said in his nomination letter that
you bring the SPIN values of love, respect, professionalism,
openness, hard work, honesty and passionate dedication to work with
you every day as evidenced by your many positive interactions as
you perform your responsibilities. As a Behavior Specialist, you
also have the unique opportunity to carry out the SPIN strategy of
"Each one; teach one" as you share your knowledge and experience
with teams who support individuals to effectively manage their
challenges.
So it is with great pleasure that I present to you the Employee of
the Month Award on behalf of the Board of Directors, your fellow
employees and all of the people you support. We thank you for
making a difference for so many and for being a living example of
the SPIN values.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
