Dear Naa,
Cynthia, Marian and Lisa are certainly blessed to have had you in
their lives for over ten years. Very few individuals supported in
CLA's have had that good fortune. In those ten years you have
helped each woman accomplish amazing things.
You have a close relationship with each as an individual; you
educate them about their rights; you advocate for them and help
them live the Everyday Life they choose. And you do it in style!
You and the ladies are always on the go and wherever you are hair,
make-up and the latest in fashion are the order of the day. I don't
think I've ever seen the ladies without jewelry and perfectly
groomed nails. You also encourage the ladies to have friendly
interactions with their neighbors and other members of the
community and frequent the same stores so that the ladies get to
know the store clerks and some even know the ladies by
name.
You support Marian to visit with her niece, Colleen, on a regular
basis; you support Cynthia's love of being pampered at her favorite
salon and clothing stores; and, Lisa, who loves animals, gets to go
to pet stores and the Pegasus Riding Academy to pet the horses. You
also discovered that Lisa enjoys the casinos so now PARX is a
frequent outing. Always alert to possibilities, you noticed that a
neighbor enjoys gardening so you helped Lisa to develop a
relationship with her so that Lisa would have a "gardening buddy."
When the neighbor shared her crop of tomatoes, you helped the
ladies write her a thank you card for her generosity.
Though you have been with the ladies for some time, you never
"settled" into your position, and you recognize the need for
continuous change within the agency. You have a strong willingness
to learn and embrace the changes as a positive for the ladies you
support. When Total Record was introduced as the new way to
document the ladies' daily progress, you were a bit hesitant to
work on the computer, but immediately sought assistance and became
a pro on the computer in no time!
You are very supportive of your co-workers and keep a line of open
communication so as not to hinder the ladies' growth and outcomes,
and because of this, you are well-respected by your peers.
So it is with great pleasure that I present you with the Employee
of the Month award on behalf of the Board of Directors, your fellow
employees and especially Marian, Cynthia and Lisa. We hope your
wonderful relationship will continue for years to come and that
your devotion to the SPIN mission and values will always be a
shining example for us all.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
