The age old question asks: Are leaders born or are they
developed? Leaders are much like athletes-some have more natural
talent than others. However, without practice, athlete or leader
will not succeed. From the first time that anyone has the fortunate
opportunity to meet you, it is simple to see that you are a born
leader sharing your gifts and talents with us and continually
developing your personal and professional skills while supporting
us to grow and develop along the way.
As a high performance Direct Support Professional/ Behavioral
Health Specialist, your outgoing personality and positive energy
motivates everyone around you as you continually seek opportunities
and deliver results. You celebrated your one year anniversary at
SPIN in January, 2009 and we remember back in your Pre-service
training how you Wowed us, knowing immediately that you were "Right
Fit". Your passionate dedication and diligence is reflected in all
that you do, demonstrating high integrity through your ethics and
values, respecting people for their uniqueness and creating synergy
with all team members. Luckily, you have chosen to participate in
the Leadership Opportunities Program and our workforce is
benefitting from your personal story, influence and
mentorship.
Tracie Funderbirk captured your strengths in her nomination letter.
Tracie wrote, "Nicholas ensures that he actively participates in
helping Demetrius and Geoffrey to engage in activities that are
meaningful to them. He is very proactive in encouraging the
gentlemen to try new activities and has shared understanding with
other team members as to how to support them in living an inclusive
life".
Nick, your calm and pleasant nature offers a positive environment
that promotes strong and effective relationships. You have
supported the men to become more independent. You are an
inspiration to us to perform our job to the highest level and to
believe in the possibility for everyone, not to mention to do it
all with a powerful smile like yours!
So, on behalf of the Board of SPIN, Inc., your fellow colleagues,
Demetrius, Geoffrey and their families, it is my privilege to
recognize you as the Employee of the Month. We thank you for making
a difference through your actions and teaching us the way.
Sincerely,
Judy Dotzman
