Though you have only been working at SPIN, Inc. in the Corporate
Offices for a year and a half, it seems as though you have always
been here. You fit like a glove! Between your caring personality
and your excellent work ethic and skills you hit the ground running
and have already had a tremendous impact on many.
As part of the Social Capital committee, you have integrated your
passion for politics with SPIN's voting initiative, supporting
people to volunteer for the Committee of Seventy in the last three
elections. You have also corresponded with and organized meetings
with legislators both in Harrisburg and Washington to raise
awareness of the DSP initiatives that the agency is involved with
statewide and nationally.
Your willingness to take on new challenges and step out of your
comfort zone resulted in your teaching a segment of the
communications liaisons workshop in which you shared your writing
techniques and style. You also applied what you learned in your
recent design course for the Annual Giving materials which were
very effective.
Speaking of Annual Giving, you again visited every SPIN CLA to
meet with staff personally to invite them to become a member of the
organization. Many would find this a daunting task but you thrive
on the personal contact and the thrill of reaching your goal to
increase employee membership. You also coordinate and track all
donations and donor benefits, which includes the Appreciation Gala
and the SPINTASTIC Raffle. To date membership is up and Annual
Giving is about $20,000 more than last year.
Obviously you also accomplish the more routine tasks of the
corporate offices like typing letters for the computer illiterates,
distributing mail, assisting in the production and distribution of
countless materials like the Annual Plan and the Yearend Services
Report.
But all of the above would mean nothing if it weren't for your
love of people and your ability to make all with whom you come into
contact feel special. Adam and Dexter look forward to seeing you as
they deliver mail to the Corporate offices; you always make time
for them and truly enjoy their friendships. Jackie Saidel told the
Voting Initiative that she wanted to vote for you as President!
That might be great but we would miss you here.
So it is my pleasure to honor you as Employee of the Month and to
thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors, your fellow
employees and all of the people we support for the very special way
that you carry out the mission of SPIN. You light up our
lives!
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
