Rachelle Parker
Jul 1, 2010
Dear Rachelle,
The Band Earth, Wind and Fire made the following lyrics
famous:
Shining Star no matter who you are
Shining bright to see, what you can truly be
Luckily, Antonio Carrington shared in his July Employee of the
Month nomination letter that SPIN has our own shining star, shining
bright to see leading the team at Spring Avenue, our own Rachelle
Parker.
Rachelle, you perform your job to the highest level of your ability
as you extend yourself and consistently develop resources to find
just the right activity to meet the unique needs of Tina, Norman
and Daryl. You worked ever so closely with your co-workers, health
services and hospice staff to develop an action plan to support Roy
during his end of life challenges. With extreme care and dignity,
you provided critical care to Roy and were a wonderful example to
all of us.
You demonstrate your deep commitment to everyone such as visiting
on your day off to welcome Daryl to his new home, making your
famous Jewish Apple Cake for Frank Brown's Birthday or helping a
co-worker problem solve a difficult situation. You are well known
to be a community connector, such a critical and integral role of
an excellent Direct Support Professional. Your knowledge and
connections in the community have created opportunities and have
increased effectiveness and efficiencies.
Antonio wrote in his nomination letter that "where most people see
problems, Rachelle sees possibilities and because of her efforts,
the individuals are improving their quality of life". Rachelle,
your eagerness to learn, your belief in others and positive energy
creates an environment that fosters excellent team work, trust,
respect and overall high performance. You realize what people truly
can be.
We are more than pleased that you are about to celebrate your first
anniversary here at SPIN. Rachelle, on behalf of the Board of
Directors, your fellow team members, Tina, Norman and Daryl we
recognize your excellence and we appreciate your willingness and
ability to go the extra mile. You certainly are a shining star here
at SPIN and as we all share this special occasion here today, we
know that Roy is surely smiling brightly.
Sincerely,
Judith R. Dotzman
