Dear Ray,
It is well known that first impressions last a
lifetime. However, how many of us have realized that it is
through these first impressions that we can control our destiny in
who we are and what we stand for. I remember the first time that I
had the honor to meet you, as you had begun your employment at SPIN
as an Employment Specialist and I walked away and thought calm,
cool, collected, intelligent, talented, professional, caring and
driven, all in about 30 seconds! Most importantly, I knew that you
were Right Fit for SPIN.
The demands of the Employment Specialist position are
challenging and unique and require the ability to be quick on your
feet, flexible with schedule changes, and collaborative with
everyone. Employment Specialists are often known as Road
Warriors, supporting people morning, noon, and night on any given
day of the week. Your hard work and high productivity is
demonstrated throughout your job activities as you go above and
beyond to support people to be and stay employed increasing their
relevance in their communities.
One example is your commitment to an individual who has a
concerned parent and you have visited the home a few times on your
own ensuring that the family is aware and comfortable with their
daughter's employment services and supports. In addition, someone
who was newly employed and in need of additional support, but
running out of units, you developed and implemented a plan of
support to stretch their units and support their successful
retention.
Jason Proske, your supervisor stated that "Ray has not
only addressed the needs of his challenging caseload but he is
proactive and has some of the best person centered supports while
handling every roadblock with a positive attitude and a plan that
is successful". It is well known that your communication is
effective ensuring customer service excellence and that all
stakeholders including the individual, the family, the employer,
the supports coordinator, and the SPIN Employment Services Team has
shared understanding.
Ray, first impressions do last a lifetime and it is safe
to say that your demonstrated outcomes in SPIN's Pillars of People
First, Performance Excellence, Professionalism and Productivity are
exemplary and an inspiration to all of us.
On behalf of SPIN's Board of Directors, your fellow
colleagues and most importantly the individuals who you support to
live a life of possibilities, I am pleased to present to you July's
Employee of the Month Award as you so richly deserve.
Congratulations.
Sincerely,
Judith R. Dotzman
Executive Director
