Dear Tyrone,
I have a riddle for you.
What do Michael Fisher, Ben Mays and Justin Mays all have in
common? A friend named Ty. A friend who cares about them; takes
time to know and understand each one as an individual; empowers
them to be their own person and mentors them to grow toward greater
independence.
Justin has so many aspirations and goals, it is hard to keep up
with him…but you do, because he needs your support on his journey.
Ben is quiet and shy and needs encouragement to be active in his
home and community…so you encourage him and he is having great
success. Mike is a day to day sort of guy and needs someone there
for him no matter what his day brings…and you are there for him,
always.
You have been described as a natural leader, a professional able
to step into various roles to get the job done. You certainly had a
positive impact on Eric Jones, a new staff member and Levi Toback,
a co-op student from Drexel; they attribute their success at SPIN
to you and your ability to communicate effectively and work as a
team. They found working with you and the guys both rewarding and
enjoyable.
Now you will be leading a change at Hartel II. Justin will be
moving and will need tremendous support to make this transition…and
you will be there for him. Sean will move in. He uses sign language
to communicate…you will be there for him too. How fortuitous that
you also know sign language and were very helpful in assisting Sean
during his visits.
I could go on and on about your many attributes and talents but
instead I'll honor you as Employee of the Month. On behalf of the
Board of Directors, your fellow employees, and Ben, Justin, Mike
and Sean thank you for your dedication and commitment to the
mission and values of SPIN. Your work speaks volumes…about a friend
named Ty.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
