Emergency Preparedness Guide

Emergency Preparedness "To Do" Guide

Aug 26, 2011

Hello All

With the upcoming hurricane that is predicted to hit this weekend it is necessary to minimize your home exposures.  Here is a short "TO-DO" list  to be completed by Friday evening:

  • Bring all outdoor loose items  inside including chair cushions, umbrellas, flags, tables
  • Find a sheltered spot in the yard to anchor or brace  trash cans, recycle cans, and grill
  • Outside drains (from downspouts or bottom of outside stairwells)  - sweep leaves & debris to clear grates so that they can do their job.

When the rain and wind begin, close all windows.

If you do not have a place to store your outdoor furniture, turn all table and chairs over and connect them to each other and the decking with a bungee cord.

If there are any questions or concerns please contact Supervisor On Call who will review the situation and if needed contact our department On-Call & Director.
