SPIN DSPs recognized at the 11th Annual Direct Support Professional Conference
SPIN is proud to congratulate four of our distinguished Direct Support Professionals who were recognized during the Awards Presentation at the Philadelphia Alliance 11th Annual Direct Support Professional Conference, they are: Antoinette Ames, Suzanne Cerruti, Jennifer Dragon, and Vanessa Freeman.
Vanessa, a SPIN Direct Support Professional who supports the gentlemen who reside on Fulmer Street, shared her experience, “I enjoyed meeting new people from different agencies, and I learned a lot from the three sessions I had. At the conference I learned some things I can apply in my work and personal life. I was excited to see other SPIN employees, and hear their experiences, whether it was their first time or they have been there before. I was very happy for the recognition. It didn't matter to me about winning.... just grateful to be nominated. Thank you to SPIN for making me feel appreciated.”
Suzanne Cerruti, a teacher who supports children in one of SPIN’s Autistic Support classrooms, also commented on her experience, “What a great conference. I have been to a few conferences but this was very nicely put together.”
The conference was developed eleven year ago as a way to advance the integral role of the Direct Support Professional in supporting people to live healthy, safe and meaningful lives. It is also a chance for our valued frontline workforce to share time with colleagues from across the Philadelphia area and to engage in discussion on best practices through a variety of workshops provided during the day.
Congratulations to SPIN’s nominees. We are so proud of the excellent work that you do!
