Autism Awareness Month
Hi Everyone,
Today is World Autism Day! Today’s the day to recognize the amazing gifts, talents, and strengths of the Autism community, and celebrate the potential for a life of possibilities for all. World Autism Day officially kicks off Autism Awareness Month with a “Light it up Blue” theme. Blue has become the official color of Autism……along with the puzzle piece that is in the SPIN-NET Philadelphia Autism Center for Excellence logo. Show your support for those with Autism and wear blue as much as possible throughout April!
SPIN will be celebrating Autism Awareness Month with a variety of staff recognition activities, and a Bowling for Autism Event on Sunday, April 19th. We are also putting together a group to go to the Phillies for Autism Awareness Night at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, April 25th! Stay tuned to SPIN’s Portal for more information throughout the month on how you and others can join in the celebration.
SPIN also launched a new weekly video series designed to offer members of the Autism community a way to get more information on Autism and to ask any questions we can respond in future video pieces. If you like what you see, please pass the word to friends, family, coworkers, and others in the community….and give us your feedback. We are looking to strengthen our connections outside of SPIN because, as always, SPIN seeks to be a resource for all whose lives are impacted by Autism and other neuro-developmental disabilities. If you or someone you love is concerned about a child’s development, please reach out to someone on the Behavioral & Developmental team to help you figure out next steps. We are always here to help! In the meantime for more information, check out the Autism Facts from the CDC posted below.

We look forward to celebrating Autism Awareness with all in the SPIN Community. Stay tuned to the portal and keep lighting it up blue!
Warm regards,
Annemarie Clarke
