On October 17 in the Norcom Café, SPIN Employment Services hosted their Third Annual Business Breakfast for the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Over 70 local businesses, High Schools and SPIN employees attended the event. Powerful testimonials were given by Deneen McCaffery and Sammi Cella of Academy Injury and Health Center. They spoke to the benefits of hiring someone with a disability through SPIN Employment Services and encouraged the audience to evaluate their business needs that could be filled by one of SPIN’s qualified applicants.
Ardie Brown and Sheena Garcia from Spring School of the Arts shared their story of mentoring a young intern with a passion for drawing. The intern’s artwork inspired characters that will be featured in a storybook due to publish next year. Sam Morrison, Mastery Charter School Pickett Campus teacher, told the story of his students who have matured and are now ready for success post-graduation because of their internships coordinated and supervised by SPIN. After the presentations, SPIN Employment Specialists networked with the crowd and are looking forward to the resulting employment opportunities. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make this Business Breakfast a success!
