In honor of SPIN Frankford’s 10th Birthday, a festive celebration took place at the Frankford campus. SPIN’s CEO Kathy Brown McHale addressed the crowd of parents, dignitaries, children and SPIN employees as she spoke about the thousands of children and families that have come through Frankford’s doors over the past 10 years. Tony Stevens, a representative from Senator Christine Tartaglione’s office, presented SPIN with a Citation from the Pennsylvania Senate in honor of the tremendous positive impact SPIN has had on the Frankford neighborhood. The SPIN Choir then took the stage, performing “I Want to Teach the World to Sing” and “Shining Star” much to the crowd’s enjoyment.
Marylou Haughney, Frankford Center Director then led the children and teachers in their amazing performances. The entertainment included several wonderful song and dance performances by the adorable Frankford students. The last song of the day was “Happy Birthday to You” led by SPIN choir director, Glenn Kornegay. Afterwards everyone enjoyed an enormous Birthday cake and fruit, cookies and punch, a delicious ending to a very joyful celebration. Happy Birthday SPIN Frankford, here’s to the decades to come!
