Happy Holidays 2013
December 19, 2013
Dear Fellow SPIN Employee,
I can’t believe another holiday season is here! It feels like just yesterday our new little crop of preschoolers started their first day of school in our children’s centers. But everywhere I look around SPIN, I see celebrations for the holidays in full swing. Parties, lunches, Christmas trees, presents, our annual food auction and even holiday tea parties are just some of the many festivities. Thanksgiving and Hanukah have already been celebrated…Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Years are almost here. ‘Tis the season and at SPIN it is bringing out love and good cheer in pretty much everyone!
As I think about this season of giving, of course I think about all of you. You are here because you want to give of yourself to others. It is one of the things that makes SPIN so special and bonds us to one another and to this growing organization. Our mission is a compelling one. It is worth coming together and digging in deep for. As I look around SPIN, there are so many signs that we are succeeding and I have all of you to thank!
As the calendar year comes to an end, we arrive at the midpoint of SPIN’s fiscal and program year. This has indeed been a year of growth so far as we succeeded in moving into the Lehigh Valley, continued to grow our Philadelphia Autism Center for Excellence and expanded Children’s Services, Employment Services and Norcom. This growth has brought us to a new milestone: SPIN now has slightly over 1,000 employees on staff! I feel so privileged to be leading this organization and working with all of you as we deliver service excellence through our Pillars of People First, Professionalism, Performance Excellence and Productivity.
SPIN is indeed a special place to be. Our reputation for quality means that families seek out our services and our funders look to us to have innovative practices and solutions for people. Even the Governor of Pennsylvania has visited us and is impressed by what we do! At this holiday time, I am filled with admiration and gratitude for who you are and what you do to support children and adults to have a life of possibilities.
May the holiday spirit be with you throughout this season and all through the year. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you and those you love!
Warmest Regards,
Kathy
