"X. INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, it is the agency’s expectation that staff
will make every effort to attend work. SPIN, Inc. has twenty-four (24) hour
responsibility for many of its service recipients and therefore proper staff
coverage is a priority at all times. For this reason agency operations are
never closed.
At the beginning of each winter season, emergency closing procedures and
assignments will be distributed. These will include the plan for
development of staff to assure proper coverage depending on service
recipient, program, and agency need. Emergency closing numbers are also
published at this time; however, these numbers only pertain to service
recipient programs. Staff is always expected to follow the published
emergency procedures and assignments.
If a staff person is unable to attend work due to inclement weather, he/she
contacts his/her supervisor to discuss the situation. Leave time may be
used at the discretion of the manager depending on service recipient,
program, and agency need.
In the event that inclement weather results in the closing of schools,
staff’s children, who have current physicals on file, are eligible for SPIN,
Inc. Day Care Services at no charge. Refer to the Day Care Benefit section."
