September 11, 2011
To the wonderful Direct Support Professionals of SPIN,
We have all heard, “If you can read, thank a teacher.” At SPIN, during DSP Recognition Week, it is time for us to say:
“If you have a great life, thank a DSP!”
Nothing is as important to the people who live in our homes or receive any of our community services than the quality, commitment and skill of a wonderful DSP – and at SPIN we have the world’s best DSPs!
You open doors to the possibilities in life, you provide connection to the dreams people have, you support through times of sickness, sadness and setbacks and you are there to celebrate every success little and big. You get people safely through life’s hurdles and this year that has included snowstorms, earthquakes and hurricanes!
Thank you for the countless acts of kindness and caring, thank you for believing in people and supporting them to believe in themselves, thank you for teaching, and most of all thank you for bringing your full self to this profession.
I congratulate, admire and thank you for all you do. It is my privilege to work with you to support a life of possibility for each person who receives services at SPIN. You bring SPIN’s mission to life every day.
In honor, gratitude and recognition,
Kathy Brown McHale
