Dear Fellow SPIN Employee,

If you are a SEPTA traveler, you may be aware that there is the possibility of a SEPTA strike on 11/1/16 at 12 am, a strike could bring to a standstill SEPTA’s bus, trolley, and subway services. Ongoing discussions are occurring  with SEPTA management.  SEPTA has not released information on alternative travel options in the event of a strike, but said it would provide a transportation plan if a strike appeared imminent. We are asking all of you who rely on SEPTA for your commute to do the following:

1.     Make arrangements with co-workers, friends or family if possible to assist you in getting to and from work in the event of a strike.

2.     If you are unable to make arrangements for a ride to and from work, notify your immediate supervisor or on-call supervisor that you need support to get to and from work. Inform your Supervisor if you are near a train line (see #3).

3.     The regional rails will be running even if there is a strike and we are planning to pick up and drop off from the following three train lines: Trenton (Torresdale Station), Chestnut Hill East (Washington Lane station) and West Trenton (Forest Hill Station) to our locations. Once you have contacted your supervisor, they will work out a schedule with Bob Lutts and Community Access and pick up times will be established.

4.     Your supervisor will work with The Ombudsmen, Bob Lutts, SPIN Community Access, on-call Supervisors and other resources to arrange a way for you to get to and from work if at all possible.

In the interest of everyone’s safety, please make sure you have your SPIN ID with you if you are getting into a SPIN van that is transporting from the train stations and make sure that you know for certain that you are getting into a vehicle that is being driven by a SPIN employee.

We will be monitoring the news and will post any SEPTA updates that are relevant and verified.

Thank you for doing all that you can to arrive to work as scheduled.
