SPIN PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING PHILADELPHIA VISIT FROM THE POPE

September 9, 2015

Dear Fellow SPIN Employees,

SPIN recently participated in a city planning event that provided us information and guidance on how to prepare for the upcoming Papal visit on September 26th and 27th as well as the time just prior during the “World Meeting of Families” event. We have since begun our internal planning to assure we are prepared during this timeframe.

As you may be aware, certain areas of the city will be restricted from travel, some major roads will be closed and some public transportation routes and services will also be reduced or closed. Happily, none of our buildings or homes is within any of the restricted areas nor are any very close to road closures, however we do expect there may be some disruptions.

Each of our services will be impacted differently according to the needs of people, the program and our staff. Over the next few days, as well as throughout the event, your managers will be communicating with you to inform you of specific plans in your service or business area and to ask you how you be effected in arriving to work during this time.

Please be prepared for these communications by knowing how you will be impacted by this event in terms of your ability to get to and from work during this time.  For information on the schedule of events, restricted zones within the city, and road and transportation closures and restrictions plus other urgent information, please go to the following website: http://www.phila.gov/InformationCenters/pope/Pages/default.aspx

Thank you as always for keeping SPIN’s mission uppermost in your mind as we plan together to assure everyone continues to receive our People First services during this worldwide event in our city.

Warmest Regards,
Kathy
