National Teachers Appreciation Week

Across America we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week.  At SPIN we have over 100 SPIN employees who work daily with children.  Position Profiles identify them as Infant child development specialist, paraprofessionals, physical therapists, occupational therapist, speech therapists, behavior specialist, child development support specialist, dining room attendant, snack bar coordinator, service coordinator, family resource coordinator and substitute.  However to the children and the families we serve you are all TEACHERS!

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and every one of you.  Nothing we could do or say would ever be enough to show how truly grateful we are that you have chosen this career.  However, look for our humble attempts all throughout the week to show our gratitude.    Have a great week!

National Nurses Week
and SPIN Health Services Appreciation Week

Annually, National Nurses Week begins on May 6, established as National Nurses Day and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession.  This year, the American Nurses Association (ANA) has chosen the theme “Nurses: Advocating, Leading, Caring” for this special week.

At SPIN, we have the good fortune to have an outstanding team of nurses and an entire department of professionals including Medical Care Coordinators (MCC), a Medical Assistant and an Administrative Assistant all devoted to supporting people to have the best possible health.  This dedicated team of professionals exemplifies this year’s theme as they advocate for individuals to obtain the best possible health care, lead the team on health education and medical training issues and always provide services to individuals in a supportive, caring manner. Throughout the year, the Health Services team provides point of service training to our staff in the residential homes and work closely with individuals, family members and staff to coordinate all aspects of health care and promptly address changing medical needs.  They also provide Hotline and 24/7 On-call support to the Residential Services Team, complete thousands of medical appointments a year and manage an endless amount of medical records and maintain compliance with licensure requirements.  With an emphasis on prevention and wellness, this team is always looking for ways to improve our services!

Their recognition is well deserved, so please join us in thanking them for their dedication and service during National Nurses Week and SPIN Health Services Appreciation Week!
