Several ideas and discussions occurred regarding the topic of Share Your Efficiency Ideas. Below are some items discussed. We plan to follow up on these ideas and keep everyone updated! Thanks again for attending.

• Utilities – Lights off, TV off, close/open blinds depending upon season, windows closed if air/heat on, use energy saving light bulbs, ensure good use is AC/heat, appropriate and efficient use of washer/dryer, water usage during personal hygiene and increased preparation (i.e. tooth brushing, wait to turn water on until ready to get in shower, etc)
• Food - efficient use of food including dating food – need to increase and enhance effective communication, compare prices, clip and use coupons
• Cleaning supplies – stop excessive use (identify concentrated supplies), cold water detergents
• Increase communication- Provide supervisors with critical information (i.e. bills, usage, etc) to share with their teams to actively participate in strategies and evaluate results. Shared Expectations among full team. Document and share successful experiences concerning products and strategies across the agency
• Vehicles – careful driving, not too heavy on the brakes, care of vehicles including cleaning inside and out
• Health Services – Ensure timely appointments (late appointments may be cost to individual), excessive/inappropriate use of gloves, order medications that are needed only
• Environmental efficiency - decrease use of paper products except for picnics, etc.
• Paperless documents: direct deposit for expense checks, travel, petty cash. Resend paperless direct deposit to all, paperless notifications of trainings, physicals. Print of both sides of document.
