Both gubernatorial candidates Tom Corbett and Dan Onorato have now published their position papers specific to disability issues. PAR encourages all of our members to review each position. • Tom Corbett Human Services Paper • Dan Onorato Disabilities Paper PAR Mail 2010-380 reminded you that under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), commonly known as the "Motor Voter" law, providers of disability services have a mandated role to help people with disabilities get registered to vote. The NVRA requires disability agencies receiving state funds to provide mail registration applications for its consumers, to assist them in completing the forms and to transmit completed forms to the appropriate location. Both states and programs providing services have obligations under the NVRA.
