Behavioral Health Unit — April - June 2007
Apr 1, 2007
The development of the Behavioral Health Unit has been years in
the making. It took about four years from beginning discussions
with MRS to the day the gentlemen finally arrived at their
homes.
Internally we set to work as soon as we got word that the project
would be funded. Many people came forward in hopes of being a part
of this new endeavor and of being the first to have the title
DSP/Behavioral Health Specialist at SPIN. After many interviews you
were selected as a "right fit" and after much training you opened
the two homes on December 28, 2005.
Individually you are each competent in your ability to perform
your job responsibilities and to support each gentleman's outcomes.
You demonstrate excellent understanding and commitment to the
recovery-oriented mission and vision of the BHU. As a team, you
support one another in trying times; you share your experience and
knowledge with each other. You have learned from your challenges
and been sustained by humor. But most importantly you have been
fueled by the love and affection that has grown over time for the
guys and each other. You have demonstrated compassion and caring
that has helped you build success based on open communication,
positive role modeling, and deep trust in the relationships that
have formed.
It is my pleasure today to honor you as the Team of the Quarter
and acknowledge the exemplary work you have done over the past
eighteen months. We all certainly expected success; but you have
far surpassed our expectations. The Board of Directors, your fellow
employees, Geoffrey, Demetrius, Frank, Hampton and Dexter thank you
for your dedication to the BHU and to the mission and vision of
SPIN, Inc.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
