Dear Mary Stearne and Lulu Frasier,
The beloved American writer, Louisa May Alcott is quoted as saying, “It takes two flints to make a fire.” And for certain, this mighty little team of two, Mary and Lulu, are on fire in Client funds, handling the finances of 257 individuals living in SPIN’s Residential Services. Just how important is the job of managing the financial information and money for so many people? I’ll answer that with another question: How important is any person’s personal money? That’s right – it’s a tremendously important job and a huge responsibility!
The mighty, little team from Client Funds handles thousands of financial transactions each year to support the individuals in Residential Services across all of SPIN’s locations including SPIN Lehigh. Mary and Lulu, your commitment and dedication to SPIN’s Pillars and to the individuals is reflected in all that you do including your high quality and caring interactions. As your manager, Terri Schultz wrote in her nomination letter, “Mary and Lulu work in cooperation with Residential and other SPIN management and staff, families, advocates, banks and other financial institutions, county, state and federal offices and, of course, each and every individual supported to assure that all finances are in order, properly documented, and are compliant with all regulations and representative payee requirements. This is a delicate balance to achieve as they also assure that each individual feels secure and supported and that they achieve their personal financial plans and outcomes.”
You both also support one another in your work and you have created an open, caring atmosphere and environment in client funds. People feel welcome and know they will be met with a high level of professionalism when they come to the client funds office. And I must add that a volunteer whom I know well who works with you told me that this is the most professional team she has ever worked with in her life! How proud I was of you when I heard those words!
Your work is greatly detailed in nature and despite being responsible for so many people’s accounts, at SPIN’s annual licensure reviews, audits and other external reviews SPIN receives many compliments and kudos for your consistently delivered standards of excellence!
Terri adds in her letter that everyone can count on the fact that Mary and Lulu will deliver service with a smile and that interactions with this team are friendly and helpful with sometimes even a dose of laughter for people to take with them after visiting their office!
So now the entire SPIN team, myself included, has the opportunity to acknowledge, thank and praise you, our most deserving Client Funds Team, better known as the dynamic duo of Lulu and Mary, for incredible team work that results in people first finances for 257 individuals! On behalf of SPIN’s Corporate Board, the management team and of course the individuals who count on you to manage their money, congratulations and enjoy your honor in being named SPIN’s Team of the Quarter for the fall of 2015! We know we can depend on you both to continue to be on fire in your work. We admire and deeply appreciate you and all that you have done and continue to do!
Warmest Regards,
Kathleen Brown McHale
