Delray — July - September 2007
Jul 1, 2007
Dear Delray Team Members,
Leadership during a time of change often spells the difference
between success and failure. When a number of staff changes could
have had a negative impact on the ladies, you banded together to
ensure that didn't happen. Life goes on for Patti, Pat and Stacey
because of your positive response to change.
Barbeques, parties, the upcoming Halloween celebrations and
relationships with neighbors and activities in the community are
all happening as usual. Patti's medical issues, Pat's coping with
dementia and Stacey's growing desire for independence are still
your primary focus. You do multiple shifts rather than risk an
unfamiliar substitute supporting the ladies in a way that doesn't
meet your quality standards, and you diligently train new staff so
that they understand all of the ladies' needs.
Jennifer Williams, in her nomination letter, called you the models
for "right fit staff". She says that every home should be so lucky
to have a group of people who are as understanding, dedicated and
supportive as you.
Carla Higgins and a consultant visited recently and were impressed
with your devotion to the ladies and your expertise in supporting
each of them. The consultant remarked, "I wish I could live here
and get such wonderful support!"
So it is my great pleasure to honor you as the Team of the Quarter.
Thank you for being the inspiration that you are. The Board of
Directors, your fellow employees and Patti, Pat and Stacey join me
in congratulating you on being a great team.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
