Dear Loan, Jimena, and Vivian,

I don't know if you ever serve up tea and buns, but I do know that what you do every day in the Frankford kitchen is amazing and makes the world a better place for many children and their families.

Every day you make and serve breakfast for over 200 children. At lunchtime you quiet the hunger pangs of some 450 children in two locations. You fill their tummies and fuel their brains with nutritious food so they can learn, learn, learn! One can only imagine the coordination, cooperation, communication, and speed it takes three people to accomplish this five days a week. You bring a special meaning to the words "team work". 

Preparation and serving food isn't your only responsibility. You also order and stock all of the food and supplies needed each week , consult with a dietician to ensure well-balanced and healthful menus, account for every penny you spend, experiment with recipes to entice the children to try new food items, and you keep the kitchen and equipment so clean it looks brand new. 

We are proud to honor you as the Team of the Quarter and to thank you for working together with such love and respect for each other that one would hardly even notice that you do this beautiful kitchen dance in three languages. So move over Rachel, Paula, and Emeril; Loan, Jimena and Vivian are the stars of our food network. That heaping tablespoon of love is just what our children need.
