Health Services — October - December 2006
Oct 1, 2006
While Gene Wellenreiter, Director of Health Services was
spending many hours contemplating how ten nurses were going to be
able to do the job of fifteen, the nurses met and came up with a
plan to ensure that quality care would continue for our 160
individuals receiving residential services. A challenge or crisis
is often a catalyst for change in team dynamics sometimes for the
better, sometimes for the worse. Fortunately Barb, Kate, Debbie,
Kelly, Betty, Stacey, Tanya and PJ have a shared vision and shared
values and have been able to forge a new team going in the right
direction with the support of Gene and Andrea.
In his nomination letter, Gene said, "I watched this new team form
bonds; I saw relationships change and mold. I was able to see each
member demonstrate the values of the agency. Each day they were
able to recognize who their stronger members were and who needed
some extra support. Without question, the stronger ones stepped up
and lead the team. Each day I watch this team ensure that all
services continue, as well as know the quality of care is never in
question."
A good team cares about their goal and each other. When they stand
shoulder to shoulder to face a challenge they are unbeatable. They
act as though it is impossible to fail. When they go after Moby
Dick, they take along the tartar sauce! They expect success.
We are happy today to recognize you as an outstanding SPIN team
and on behalf of the Board of Directors, your fellow SPIN employees
and those who you so caringly support, I thank you for being the
professionals you are and the team you chose to be.
Sincerely,
Trina Losinno
Executive Director
