Dear Kim Roselli and Adam Socrates,

In their nomination letter, Freya and Chris described you as “the dynamic duo”, but as Shakespeare inquired, “What’s in a name?” Well a great deal in this case, because in looking up the word “dynamic”, one finds it means “self-motivated”, “energetic” and “full of life”.  This is a very apt description of this two-person team that has taken our Lehigh Employment Services by storm.

With 17 individuals coming to SPIN Lehigh for employment support, you commit your all to finding opportunities for each and every one.  Adam and Kim, you begin with an individualized, people first discovery process that determines and promotes the strengths and interests of each individual. You also work collaboratively with families, community members, coworkers and other members of the SPIN team to assure the right services and supports are present for each person.

It is well known that diligence and resourcefulness are key qualities for successful Employment Specialists and you have both qualities in ample supply. This team has worked resourcefully and diligently to find and support 11 people to become employed or gain internships in the last year. Companies where these positions and opportunities occur include The Gap, Plato’s Closet, Bethlehem Township Community Center, MainTech and Buck’s County Library.

Here are some highlights of the opportunities you are supporting:

Of course one of the most notable highlights is that this team has supported Ben to become a business owner! Ben’s Best Farm Fresh Brown Eggs would never have happened were it not for the incredible people first approach and support of Kim with Adam backing her up. In Ben’s own words, “SPIN’s Employment Services made my dreams come true!” Ben’s chicken flock will soon be increasing by 50% to 18 hens in order to satisfy the demand from Ben’s customers. Simply remarkable!

Chris and Freya wrote in their nomination of you that “Kim and Adam are committed to preparing the individuals for success.  Developing individualized support plans is a significant area of strength for this team.  Adam and Kim are a team that works together to achieve performance excellence.  They know that the success of SPIN is directly linked to the success of the individuals they support.  They are committed to creating meaningful and effective support systems to allow all individuals they serve to succeed.  Additionally they are frequently tasked with providing guidance to new direct support staff to ensure quality and consistent support.  Not only do they explain how to best provide support, but also the reasoning behind the method.”

This team has been an inspiration to everyone in our SPIN Lehigh community and now in our entire community. Kim and Adam, your fellow employees look to you for guidance, leadership and ideas. In addition to all of the positive characteristics indicated in the nomination letter and that people say about you, the idea of believing in people and their possibilities seems to be at the core of how you operate as a team. Nothing stops you from pursuing opportunities because you see the strengths in each person you support.

Adam and Kim, it is an honor to recognize you; Lehigh’s Employment Specialists, as SPIN’s Team of the Quarter. Your hard work and dedication to the people we support, embodies the ideals set forth in SPIN’s mission and Pillars. So now the entire SPIN team has the opportunity to acknowledge, thank and praise this dynamic duo, our most deserving Lehigh Employment Specialist team, for all of your incredible team work, collaboration and accomplishments.
